There was once a young girl named Alice who loved her house and friends very much in Oklahoma. Sadly, one day, Alice’s parents told her that they were moving to a new house in Texas!
Alice turned from being happy to sad. Three days after they had moved, Alice had to start to go to school again!
On the first day at her new school, she didn’t know anyone. During their break, Alice saw a girl named Felicity. She said, “Nice outfit, Felicity!” Felicity answered, “Oh, hi! Looks like someone is lonely.” She laughed. Alice walked away with shame.
On Valentine’s day, Alice still didn’t have friends so she gave out Valentines to everyone. When it was time to open cards, everyone either ripped Alice’s card or didn’t pay attention to it or dropped it. Alice was really hurt!
That day, when Alice came home, she was really, really upset. She started to beg her parents to go back to their old house but her parents simply ignored her.
“Can we please, please, please move back?”
“I’m sorry but I’m afraid not.”
That night when Alice went up to her room, she had an idea of making friends. She thought it out again and then told herself, “I’m a genius!”
The next morning, when Alice awoke, she got into a pretty blue dress and took her backpack down. She quickly ate her breakfast and rushed into the school bus.
When she reached school, she decided to try to make friends. When everyone in the class made fun of her, she couldn’t take it anymore.
“THAT’S IT!!!” She yelled as she stood on a table. “That’s it. Everyone was once like me. It doesn’t mean I can’t be respected just like everyone else just because I am new.”
At that, everyone realized their mistake and started to surround Alice as she got off the table. Everyone started to apologize. Alice laughed when everyone was asking to be her friend.
She said, “You know what? You all are my friends!”
